Patents Search & Annotation Tools[edit]

John F. Martin has identified three stages for the evolution of patent search. First stage is the Manual Search up to the 80s, which is based on classification codes. The Second Age is the Keyword Search enabled by the computerization of the patent documents in online databases starting in the late 90’s. The Third Age is the Patent Analytics, which provides multiple ways to find relevant patents, by improving information where possible, automatically linking patents to other helpful information, prioritizing results. More details in this article [[1]].
